Note from the Seller

Art Kadey and Jim Krogen inspired by the idea of safe , comfortable and efficient Bluewater cruising, formed Kadey-Krogen Yachts in 1977.

That idea led to their first, design, a yacht with a hull that allows for comfortable passage making, far offshore and ready for the mercurial conditions that can sometimes arise. Second, fit out that hull with a finely finished interior that would welcome its owners with homelike comfort. Hence the Krogen 42,  from the fine entry to the wineglass transom, Kadey-Krogen’s Pure Full Displacement hull design uses full end-to-end symmetry to provide a softer ride with less pounding, better tracking in a following sea, and a safer and more comfortable ride.

As one Kadey-Krogen owner who crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice, once said,I really believe that this is the best boat for what I’m doing. If money were no object, I’d have a Kadey-Krogen 48, but if you care about money, then this is probably the best boat to do it in. “

This 1983 Kadey-Krogen 42 is just that boat.  Whether you want to do The Great Loop (mast easily lowers to reduce bridge clearance to 18ft), cross the gulf stream for the Bahamas, cruise the entire Caribbean island chain or just meander up and down the intracoastal waterway, nothing is out of reach. Holding 700 gals of diesel she has a 2,000 mile range burning 1.7 gals an hour at cruise speed. In DO Time  is not a dock queen, she has moved extensively since her purchase in 2016, when over 100k was spent on a major refit with a new electrical panel and wiring among other items. Walkthrough

Lets start forward, she has a teak pulpit with windlass. Forward on the cabin is built-in seating. She has walkways both port and starboard leading to the aft deck that is wrapped with teak. The aft deck has a transom door to her swim platform and ladder to the bridge deck. Her bridge has a nice helm forward, solar panels over her pilot house top, and a large deck (which has been re-cored and glassed) and dinghy storage.

Entering her cabin from the aft deck, she has seating to starboard and a couch to port. Moving forward she has a bookcase built-in over her power panel to port and galley to starboard. Just to the port side of centerline she has the companionway forward. Her guest stateroom is to starboard and features a single berth on the starboard outer bulkhead and Pullman berth forward. Across form the guest stateroom is the guest head on port. Again moving forward is her master stateroom with a full berth to starboard (storage below) and storage on port. Her master head is in the forepeak.

Access to her engine room is forward in the salon and centerline below the salon floor.
